Doctor Raj Dasgupta, MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Raj Dasgupta is So Cal's Official Hometown MD, the official spokesperson for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the official spokesperson for the COPD Foundation.  When he is not practicing medicine at  University of Southern California Division of Pulmonary / Critical Care / Sleep Medicine, or traveling the world teaching aspiring doctors how to pass the U.S board exam for Kaplan Medical, you can catch this Quadruple Board Certified Doctor giving valuable advice to people around the world on various media outlets and Television shows such as "The Doctors".  Doctor D's life mission is to educate patients, students and aspiring doctors to better patient care.  Other than that, he's just a regular dude. 
 
Dr. Dasgupta completed his internal medicine residency at Michigan State University and his Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at Columbia University, Saint Lukes & Roosevelt Hospital then his sleep medicine fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital while working at VA Medical Center in Detroit. During his training, he received numerous awards including: resident of the year, fellow of the year and the Director’s Award for research two years in a row. After his training, Dr. Dasgupta worked as a Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine attending at Abington Hospital which is affiliated with Temple and Drexel University. On 5/24/2013 Dr. Dasgupta was presented with the Faculty teacher of the year at Abington Hospital. Dr. Dasgupta is quadruple board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. He is an active clinical researcher and has contributed to numerous publications including a study on Pulmonary Hypertension in collaboration with UCLA and recently completed a study called: “Pulmonary Hypertension and Cardiovascular Complications in Patients with Ventilator Associated Pneumonia” . Dr. Dasgupta was inducted into the American College of Physicians and the Amercian College of Chest Physicians now carries the titles FACP and FCCP. Currently, Dr. Dasgupta is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California (USC) in the division of Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine. Dr. Dasgupta teaches USMLE Step 1, 2, 3, and Internal Medicine Board Review for the past 8 years.
