Host of HGTV’s Design on a Dime and chief designer on Travel Channels Hotel Impossible, Casey began her career as a computer graphics artist in Washington, D.C., before moving to California to study interior design at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. During her time at FIDM, Casey pursued opportunities in the creative world of hospitality design and continued her career at some of the top hospitality design firms, specializing in hotels, restaurants, bars and spas. In 2009 Casey founded her own design firm with two colleagues. Some of their diverse and distinguished portfolios include the Borgata, SLS Miami and the Redbury, listed as one of Conde Nast’s hot list hotels for 2011. Casey’s enthusiasm for design was one of the motivating factors that brought her to compete in season five of HGTV’s Design Star, where she made it to the top three.
